EVANGELISM TEAM

Mission Statement:

The mission of the Evangelism Ministry shall be to welcome, support and reach others in an effort to promote the Gospel and teachings of Christ, touching all those within our own spiritual family and persons in our surrounding community.

Evangelism is a Greek word meaning good news. The word has the same root as angels, messengers who announce good news. To be about the task of evangelism is to announce the Good News of Jesus through word and deed.

MEMBERSHIP.

Why?-

Christians become part of the church by God's grace as received in the Sacrament of Holy Baptism. One becomes a member of a local congregation of the Christian Church to be empowered in living out their discipleship and commitment to Jesus Christ. Belonging to a local congregation provides an atmosphere of spiritual support and provides avenues for service to God and others. Church membership is not a requirement for salvation and does not advance one's position in a type of spiritual hierarchy. A person becomes a church member because they want to serve, worship, and commit to advancing God's kingdom in tandem with an organized body of believers.

How?-

All who acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord and are baptized, or are seeking baptism are welcome to become members of Trinity and participate in our ministry.  New Member classes are held periodically to acquaint people with Lutheran Christianity and Trinity Lutheran Church.  You can join Trinity by:

  • Transfer from ELCA congregation:  Call or write to your previous church and request a transfer to Trinity, or Pastor can request one for you.  Please contact Pastor.

  • Transfer from non ELCA Lutheran churches and other non Lutheran Churches:  Same as above.

  • Adult Baptism:  Speak with Pastor to arrange a meeting and time for instruction.

  • Affirmation of Faith:  If you are previously baptized, but not currently a member of a church, speak with Pastor to arrange a meeting and time for instruction.

  • Associate Member:  If you still want to keep your membership at your home church but live here in the area and attend regularly, we are glad to have you be a part of our ministry.

What Then? Integrate!-
When you are involved in our congregation, spiritual growth can happen and the congregation can function more effectively. A living faith is a strong faith and Trinity is here to help you advance in your discipleship.
